Facebook’s importance is growing and growing. Not having a Facebook account may drag you away of the social life. The shared amount of information is crucial. If you do not have a relationship status, your facebook friends will assume you are single. No questions. If you are, then ... hey what, I don’t care. But what if you are single and you just want to blend into the crowd of your friends whose status is ‘in relationship’? There is nothing easier than pressing the ‘in relationship’ button. Well, is that enough? Don't assume you don't need your girlfriend to be active on Facebook. Is there any solution?

The question is inevitable, why would anyone want or even need to hire a fake online girlfriend? Well, because we all want to fit. If ‘to fit’ means have a girlfriend at all costs (or 5 dollars) we have to have it. Media and social media itself overestimate the level of intimacy we share with our online friends. We tend to compare ourselves with others - and, we want to belong to the crowd and feel "normal." But what is normal...?

Wow, this is seriously happening? People are hiring fake girlfriends to look good in front of their friends? To be honest, I think this it too much and I can't believe that someone would be actually that stupid. Nevertheless, thanks for an interesting post, this new fact really made me laugh:)

I am sorry for people who pay to have a "girlfriend" on facebook.It is too much, as Kristyna said. However,it shows that people are sometimes ready to spend their money, just to fit and not to be behind other people. I agree, it is stupid and can not understand that people feel good to pay to get comments and letters. On the other hand, I appreciate these people who made this website. ReplyDeleteInteresting, to be honest, I wasn't that surprised because there are actually people who care a lot of what others think of them in facebook or other social web page. As for some case of people i know they actually change their status relationship every single time something happen, doesn't matter if they are dating someone. Met someone nice - in a complicated relationship ? Married status to a close friend ( mostly same gender friend ). Or being engaged like after one week dating. They love it even if they change from being in a relationship to single because people would comment or press "like", and they think that others care. I find it weird and annoying. Better stick to who you are ;).

Well in my opinion it is so ridiculous to hire fake girlfriend and even pay for it. This webpage was created for poor individuals who suffer form low self-esteem and sometimes I am just wondering where the society takes.

ReplyDeletewell I am not surprised that this webpage is prospering. There are lot of young boys who think that having a relathionship on FB is the coolest thing in the world. Maybe it could also work for girls in a slightly different way. If you have a really annoying "admirer" who you can´t get rid off by any way, you can try to hire a fake boyfriend and assure the other one you are really not available ;)
